Worship Support

Ministry Opportunities abound in the areas of worship and music at Immanuel!

Serving in one of Immanuel's Worship Support positions is not only a great opportunity to serve but to meet others as well. Ushers welcome families to worship, hand out worship folders and announcements, receive the offering and usher at the time of communion.

The Altar Guild serves to set and care for the altar. This includes communion service, flowers, candle care, changing paraments and special festival decorations.

Acolytes are students in second through fifth grade who serve by lighting and extinguishing the candles used for worship. Basket Holders are kindergarten through fifth grade students who assist the elders and communion servers at the time of communion by holding a basket for empty communion cups.

Scripture Readers assist at the 8:00 Classic Grace worship service by reading the Scripture lessons, typically serving about once every two months.

Communion is offered at both of our Sunday morning worship services each week. Communion Servers assist with serving communion about once a month.

Media Shout technicians operate the computer used to provide song texts, videos and other visuals on the screen during worship services. Media Shout technicians are needed at both the 8:00 and 10:30 worship service. Training and support are provided.

Sound Technicians operate the soundboard for events in the sanctuary and gymnasium (worship, concerts, musicals, meetings, assemblies, etc.) to ensure proper sound quality and technical support. Training and support are provided.

The Nursery provides loving care and safety of our "little lambs" on Sunday mornings, September through May, during the 9:30 Education Hour and 10:30 First Light worship service, as well as other special events when needed.

Immanuel's Banner Ministry provides appropriate banners for worship services and baptisms using the resource of Immanuel's banners as well as making new banners.

Counting Teams count the offerings after worship services, enter the data and deposit the money in the bank.

The Worship Planning Team, one of Immanuel's Core Ministry Teams, meets monthly to discuss worship at Immanuel, from the details of weekly worship themes all the way to the big picture of times and styles of worship services offered.
