Dinner Together

Dinner Together is an exciting way to meet people in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. You and about seven other people -  some you may already know, some you may not - will get together in each other's homes for a meal. This can be a great time for you to get to know others outside of regular worship services, who are older, younger, single or married. Dinner Together gives you the opportunity to spend valuable time with other people talking, laughing, sharing stories and growing closer. The only thing on the agenda is building friendships.

 

Dinner Together FAQs

How does it work? Simply sign up by sending an email to Immanuel. You'll then be randomly placed with others to form your group. A Host will be selected from the group to inform the other members of where dinner will be held.

How are Hosts selected and what are they responsible for? Hosts will be randommly selected from the group. Hosts are responsible for contacting others, providing directions, and serve as a point person for the gatherings.

When do these dinners take place? Most Dinner Together groups will meet the first Saturday of the month. Your Host will contact you to let you know the specific date and time. Groups are free to meet anytime that is agreeable to members. You can be as creative as you like!

All that sounds pretty good so far, but who cooks the meals? Whoever is hosting Dinner Together for that month provides the main course of the meal, invites everyone over to his/her house and asks others to bring something specific. If for any reason you are unable to host a meal, we encourage the groups to be flexible.

I don't have room to host a dinner or I really can't cook! No problem! Our desire is for you to spend time eating together and getting to know each other and to include everyone. Ideas might be to potluck together, plan a picnic, or eat out. We want everyone to feel that they can participate.

Will there be separate groups for singles and couple? No, our hope is to mix and integrate as much as possible. We even have some new options for groupings with children, without children, and a mix of sometimes with and sometimes without children.

How will that be done? As we start pulling the groups together, we randomly put people together in order to make sure each group has about eight participants. Some groups might be all couples, some may have a mixture, it all depends on who signs up.

How will I find out who I'm in a group with? After signup, groups will be organized for the next 3 months. You'll receive a list of hosts and groups for 3 months at a time.

This sounds like fun! Can I sign up anytime? We will formally assemble groups in August, January, and March for launching in September, February, and April. You'll be integrated into a group as soon as possible. We give you the option to rejoin or bow out as you need to with each 3 month launching. But you can sign up anytime!
